Changelog
What's shipped and what's coming -- on-device, nothing uploaded.
v1.1.1
June 2026
Latest
The app has a new name. Same guardian, sharper identity.
Rebrand
- Vault: Privacy Guardian - the app formerly known as SkinVault. Same app. Same on-device ML. Same purple robot. The name changes because the old one was ambiguous: "vault" implies custody, and this app takes custody of nothing. Vault is a guardian: it scans your library on your device, finds what's sensitive, and helps you protect it. Your photos never leave your iPhone. The new name says exactly what happens.
- Not a photo vault. A privacy guardian. Your photos are already safe where they are -- Vault guards your privacy without ever taking your photos anywhere. No upload. No cloud. No custody transfer. This distinction is the whole point.
What stays the same
- Your subscription, tokens, and scan history are fully preserved. Apple's price lock keeps founding members at their original rate.
- The App Store URL and Bundle ID do not change. Existing links and bookmarks continue to work.
- All features, pricing tiers, and the Vault Pledge are unchanged.
Still 100% on-device. Still zero uploads. Still yours.
v1.1.0
May 2026
Stable
Video scanning, flexible scan packs, and a steadier review flow.
New
- Video scanning - the same on-device AI that finds sensitive photos now analyzes videos too. Results in seconds; nothing is uploaded or processed off your device.
- Flexible scan packs - buy exactly what you need: Weekend Boost (1,000 tokens), Deep Clean (5,000 tokens), Video Pack (500 video tokens), and Catch-Up packs for libraries over 10,000 photos.
- Peek - a $2.99 one-time purchase that reveals your top 4 highest-risk detections. Try before you subscribe.
- Turbo Start - a 2,000-token one-time boost offered at subscription sign-up. Gets you through your backlog on day one.
Improved
- Review flow stability - the detail view no longer crashes on photos with unusual metadata. Detection data is normalized before display, so any edge-case shape in your library is handled gracefully.
- Token model - subscription tokens now drip in weekly (Essentials: 375/week; Bundle: 750 photo + 125 video per week) rather than arriving as a single monthly lump. Easier to pace through a large library.
- Yearly pricing - Essentials yearly at $149.99; Bundle yearly at $199.99. Both are 2 months free compared to monthly.
Fixed
- Detail view crash on photos missing expected detection fields.
- Category display showing raw internal identifiers in some edge cases.
- Scroll position reset when navigating back from the detail view.
On-device only - video frames are never uploaded, transmitted, or stored outside your iPhone.
Founding Members. Many hearts to the early adopters who found Vault by instinct or word of mouth. If you subscribed before the pricing update, Apple's price preservation keeps you at your original rate for as long as you stay subscribed. You were here when it mattered.
v1.0.2
April 2026
Stable
Storage housekeeping and smoother review pagination.
Fixed
- Temporary scan files were not cleaned up after each session, causing duplicate files to accumulate in local storage. Fixed with a proper defer-guard and post-scan cleanup. Your photos were never at risk - this was purely an on-device housekeeping issue.
- Queue counter capped incorrectly at 1,000 items; removed the artificial cap.
- Load More pagination in the flagged and safe tabs was using virtual pagination that caused photos to appear out of order. Replaced with direct DB-backed pagination.
- Elapsed scan time display formatting on sessions over 60 minutes.
v1.0.1
March 2026
Stable
First post-launch patch - performance and metadata accuracy.
Fixed
- Subtitle metadata correction: "Keep Private - Private".
- Pricing metadata accuracy on App Store product page.
- Minor scan queue stability improvements on older devices.
v1.0.0
February 2026
Initial release. Vault is alive.
New
- On-device ONNX YOLO scanning - finds sensitive photos Apple's SCA misses.
- Dual-layer detection: Apple SCA prefilter + full ONNX analysis.
- Confidence scores and category breakdown per detection.
- Batch hide workflow - moves flagged photos to iOS Hidden album, protected by Face ID.
- Token-based access model - free scan always runs; tokens unlock which photos were flagged.
- Essentials and Bundle subscriptions; Demo (free) tier.
- Works offline - no internet required for scanning.
